Live Lunchtime Music Coming Every Wednesday to Downtown Everett

The annual Music on the Plaza series kicks off this Wednesday at the Snohomish County Administration Building in downtown Everett.

From electro-pop to country rock to solo blues, Snohomish County’s 2014 Music on the Plaza lineup features an artist for every musical taste. The annual free lunchtime concert series kicks off Wednesday, July 9, at the Snohomish County campus amphitheater, 3000 Rockefeller, Everett.

Local vendors will also set up on the county campus, offering visitors the chance to purchase locally grown flowers and homemade goods, and sample delicious food from local merchants.

Bradford Loomis kicks off the series Wednesday.

The first show features Bradford Loomis whose website provides the following description: Brad marries grit and melody to dig to the roots of American folklore and speak of the raw reality of the human condition with soul, passion, and hope. Brad’s stories span a lifetime of relatable emotions, be it the bitterness of loss, the deep longing of regret, the enduring hope of love, or the elation of joy.

Musical performances run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Wednesday, from July 9 through Aug. 27:

  • July 9: Bradford Loomis Band, American folklore roots
  • July 16: Ayron Jones, soulful, electrifying blues
  • July 23: Fauna Shade, euphoric rock & roll
  • July 30: Nigel Mustafa, reggae-rock
  • August 6: Preacher’s Wife, introspective indie-folk
  • August 13: Ian McFeron, country infused roots rock
  • August 20: Arkomo, electronic-inflected experimental pop
  • August 27: Curtis Hammond Band, 9 piece rhythm & blues band

The artists represent a wide range of the best and newest bands in Puget Sound this summer. Fauna Shade, contestant at EMP’s Sound Off! Battle of the Bands, will shred guitar during the summer concert series. Sam Anderson of Hey Marseilles will present his new solo project Arkomo – making its Everett debut. Ian McFeron will bring his Bob Dylan-esque country-infused rock to the county plaza as well.
