The city of Everett is looking for neighbors who want to help their neighbors…

The Everett Fire Department is offering a spring Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 19 through May 7. To date, more than 570 people have participated in the Everett CERT program.

The 8-session course teaches a variety of disaster-planning, recovery and survival skills aimed at helping community members prepare for and survive disasters. Everett citizens, as well as business owners, are encouraged to participate or send employees to these free emergency preparedness classes. The training course is offered at no cost, but requires the purchase of personal basic emergency equipment usually not exceeding $30.
