Everett Police are investigating the suspicious death of a south Everett woman.

The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab is assisting Major Crime Detectives from the Everett Police Department in searching an apartment where a woman was found dead Friday afternoon. According to Everett Police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg, someone called 9-1-1 around 2:30pm to a report of suspicious circumstances at an apartment in the 8200 Block of 5th Ave. W. When patrol officers arrived they found an open door and a deceased person inside. Dalberg says detectives from the department’s major crimes squad responded and requested assistance from the Washington State Patrol crime lab in processing the scene. Police confirmed the deceased is an adult female. It will be up to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death but Dalberg says they are treating it as suspicious.
