Wednesday (January 15th) is the deadline to submit your suggestions on how the city of Everett should plan for the future. The city is looking for ideas on where to put people, employers and public services over the next 20 years or so. Click the following link if you’d like to see the current comprehensive plan that takes Everett through 2025. Then when you’re ready, click on the links below to take the survey for 2035 as explained by the City of Everett.

The City of Everett is required by the Growth Management Act to update our Comprehensive Plan by extending the current planning horizon from 2025 to 2035.  Everett is expected to experience significant population and job growth in the next 20 years, adding as many as 61,000 more residents, 30,000 more housing units and up to 45,000 more jobs.  How we plan will affect whether or not we can provide the land capacity and necessary public services and facilities to accommodate this much growth.

We encourage you to share your thoughts about Everett’s future and our Comprehensive Plan update by completing our on-line survey.  The survey has also been formatted as an Adobe form that you can open, complete, print and send, or e-mail to us.  The deadline for completing the survey is January 15, 2014.  Information collected from this survey will be used by City staff, the Planning Commission and the City Council to help make important decisions about our future.
