It took Everett firefighters about an hour to completely extinguish a fire at an empty Everett boat repair shop late Wednesday night. Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson passed along this report…
Everett Fire Department crews responded to a fire in a boat repair shop in the 300 block of West Marine View Drive at 11:07 p.m. Sprinklers kept the fire in check until crews declared it out around midnight. An investigator is on scene gathering information. No one was in the building. There were no injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and there is no estimate of damage loss yet. UPDATE: Robinson says the cause of the fire was an overheated heater vent which ignited the wall where it vented to the outside of the building. Damage is estimated at $25,000.00.
