Everett Police Still Looking For Tips in Abduction of 5-Year-Old Girl (Video Attached)

September 23, 2013

Everett, Police Blotter

Sept. 23rd 7:00pm Description Update from Everett Police:

Detectives are releasing newly developed information on the suspect.
The updated suspect description is for a darker skinned male with dark-colored eyes, shorter than average adult height, normal build with no facial hair or visible tattoos. He has two earrings in each ear with one being a gold stud and the second a white diamond. During the incident the male wore a white baseball or “painter” style hat backwards, dark-colored shirt, light-colored jeans with green and blue colored tennis shoes.

If you were in the area of 112th street SE near the I-5 overpass and Interurban trail around 3am Saturday morning, Everett Police would like to talk with you. On Saturday, MyEverettNews.com broke the story of a 5-year-old who was abducted from her apartment by a male wearing a white hat and white earrings. Police has video of what they believe is the suspect carrying the girl over his shoulder after taking her out of a ground floor apartment in the 800 block of 112th street. You can see that image at about the :50 mark of the video below.

Detectives continued investigating the abduction case over the weekend and are currently working through numerous tips received from the public.

Additional investigation, through the assistance of Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office man-trackers, leads detectives to believe the suspect left the Interurban Trail through a wooded area and entered a neighborhood to the west in the 10900 block of 10th Dr SE. It is possible an alert neighbor saw the male walking nearby.

Detectives are stressing that the video surveillance shows several vehicles travelling eastbound on 112th St SE just after 3:00 a.m. while the male suspect carried the victim to the Interurban Trail.

Detectives working the case are requesting anyone living near the area or anyone who was on the Interurban Trail early Saturday morning between 112th St SE and Everett Mall, and saw or heard something suspicious, to call 911 or the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450. Additionally, anyone who has recently seen someone similar to the male shown in the video is asked to call.

At this time there is no additional suspect information available.
