Everett Fire Department crews responded at about 9:30 a.m. to a reported pool-related chlorine incident in the 1000 block of East Marine View Drive. A maintenance worker was doing routine maintenance on the swimming pool when there was a loud bang. The worker received some chlorine burns which were neutralized by the responding crews. Another employee also was exposed to some chlorine fumes. Both were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center for further evaluation of their injuries.

Robinson said crews entered the area of the incident to investigate the cause. No word yet on exactly what happened but the chlorine is no longer present and Everett Fire has left the scene.
