PUD Drastically Cutting Price of CFL Bulbs in Everett

3 CFLs for $4 is a great deal!

The Snohomish PUD today announced a limited time program where residents in Everett and Snohomish County can buy 3-packs of CFL bulbs for $4.00 or less while supplies last. Starting August 1st, In Everett, you’ll be able to buy them at Dollar Tree Stores and Walgreens. Each three-pack contains a 9-watt, a 13-watt and a 23-watt CFL. These are equivalent to a 60-watt, 75-watt and 100-watt incandescent but use a fraction of the energy to produce the same amount of light.

The price is deeply discounted by the PUD but may vary at each location. The 3-packs sell for $4 or less and are available as long as supplies last. You can click here for other locations in Snohomish County.

LEDs, unlike CFLs which contain mercury and thus require special disposal are just as efficient, in many cases dimmable and last longer.

McLendon Hardware stores have been selling LED 4-packs of dimmable bulbs that replace a 60W incandescent for about $12. At $3 a bulb, this is a steal.

I replaced all my incandescent A19 style bulbs with these dimmables and the light color and light output match the bulbs they replaced.
