The City of Everett released this update about a sewage spill this morning…

At 8:50 am, Saturday, July 20, a power outage at Everett’s sewer lift station resulted in approximately 40,000 gallons of sewer being released into Port Gardner Bay. Power to the lift station was restored and the lift station back in operation at 9:30 am.

Everett has notified the Department of Ecology, Department of Health, Port of Everett and City of Mukilteo.

Signs notifying people to stay out of the water have been posted at Howarth Park and Pigeon Creek beaches. Water quality samples have been taken. The signs will be removed when the water quality samples signify the water quality has returned to normal levels.
