On Friday, workers from Western Display Fireworks explained how the show is put together. It’s set to run for 20 minutes starting at 10:20pm. Tune to 1520AM for music with the show.

The shells have been loaded onto the barge and things are a “go” for the “Thunder on the Bay” Fireworks display over the Everett Waterfront. The first shell will launch at 10:20pm with the show running 20 minutes. The fireworks will be set to patriotic music and you can follow the simulcast by tuning a radio to Classic Country 1520 KXA on the AM band. (Editor’s note: I will be hosting the radio show again this year.)

The best viewing for the Fireworks is expected along the Everett Waterfront. Another great suggestion is Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd. where starting at 1:00pm there will be a festival featuring live music, food vendors, events for kids, a beer garden and more. You can’t drive to Legion Park but there are free shuttles running every 15 minutes from Everett Community College and the Everett Transit Center. Grand Avenue Park is also a great place to watch the show. Click here for the complete 2013 Everett 4th of July event guide.

City of Everett Police and Fire officials do want to remind you that personal use of any fireworks is illegal in Everett and they will be confiscating and writing tickets to those found in possession. Extra patrols have been added to try to keep everyone safe.
