If you’d like to feel better prepared in case of a disaster in your neighborhood the Everett Fire Department has announced a class that can help train you to assist family, neighbors and friends. Here’s how to sign up…

The Everett Fire Department is offering a Summer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class on Monday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon July 22 through Aug. 15.
The eight-session course will provide a variety of disaster planning, recovery and survival skills aimed at surviving and assisting our community in disaster response and recovery.  Everett residents as well as business owners are encouraged to participate or send employees to these free emergency preparedness classes.  To date, more than 570 people have participated in the Everett Fire Department CERT Program.
Applications are available at the Everett Office of Emergency Management and are due no later than July 8.  Class size is limited.  For more information, contact the Everett Office of Emergency Management at 425-257-7965 or everetteoc@ci.everett.wa.us.
