Everett police search for burglary suspect

A wild morning in south Everett as a burglary suspect ran from police and a search continues. Here’s what we know so far from Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell. At 4:19am officers were called to a report of a burglary in the 8900 block of Evergreen Way. As officers arrive a white flatbed truck is leaving the scene. Officers try to stop the truck and it takes off. There is a short pursuit but then Everett officers terminate the pursuit and the truck continues. At 4:26am police receive a call of a car on fire after a crash at 75th and Evergreen. Officers are able to put out the fire and assist the woman who reports the vehicle that hit her was a white flatbed truck. She has minor injuries. While officers are on an area check for the white truck, an officer spots it on Upper Ridge Road. The truck and officer’s car collide and the police cruiser suffers damage. The officer was not injured. A few minutes after that a resident in the 7400 block of Upper Ridge Road reports a truck matching the description has crashed in front of her house. Everett Police have been searching the area with K-9s but as of 7:00am have not yet found the suspect. The only description they have is of a white male who is heavyset. There may also be a second suspect but Snell says there is no description available. Officers are still patrolling the area between Hardeson Road, Upper and Lower Ridge and back east toward Beverly Lane. If you see anything suspicious, please call 9-1-1.
