If you like bagpipes, highland dancing and haggis, here’s an event for you. The Kenmore and District Pipe Band are putting on their 5th annual Burn’s Night Dinner at Legion Park Golf Course Clubhouse in Everett Saturday night. Cleda Thompson was nice enough to send along these details…

We will have a Parade of Haggis, Bagpiping, Highland Dancing and a Silent Auction.

Dinner and the evening of entertainment is $35 per person.

Doors open at 6:30 PM, dinner is at 7:00 PM. The silent auction starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00 PM.

Thompson tells me Robert, “Bobby”, Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the National Poet of Scotland and his birthday is celebrated worldwide.

As far as that parade of haggis…Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish and a Burn’s Supper is not real unless the haggis is piped in and a Burn’s poem is read. The traditional tune used for piping in the haggis is, “A Man’s A Man For All That.”
Now, you may ask what is haggis? Haggis is oatmeal with herbs and organ meat.
