Several cars tipped over after a mud slide came down onto BN tracks at the Port of Everett

Around 1:30pm Monday, a slide caused a derailment on the Burlington Northern rail line along the south end of the Port of Everett shipping terminal. Burlington Northern crews will work thru the night to get the tracks re-open for freight traffic but passenger trains won’t run between Everett and Seattle until at least Wednesday. There were no injuries and while Everett Fire Haz-Mat crews responded to the scene, there did not appear to be any danger due to the derailment.
