Port of Everett

The Port of Everett may get noisy over the next month.

The Port of Everett is undergoing some remodeling in order to accept larger cargo ships. The work may be noisy as it involves jack-hammering and pile driving. Here’s an update direct from the Port…

Improvements to the Port of Everett Dolphin Berth will begin Dec. 10 and continue into the new year. Currently, 600-foot Roll-On/Roll-Off ships (also known as Ro/Ro) dock at the Pacific Terminal. Upgrades to the Dolphin Berth at the South Terminal will allow the Port to
accept ships up to 869 feet in length.

The Dolphin Berth consists of pilings and bumpers that allow a ship to line up against it, unloading product onto South Terminal. There are two existing dolphins, with one in need of repair. A third dolphin is being added, accommodating larger ships.

The work requires jack-hammering out old materials, and driving nine new pilings. The Port and contractor are sensitive to the neighbor’s concerns
and will not be working over the holiday from Dec. 22-25.

The contractor, Orion Marine Group, will mobilize Dec. 10 and begin demolition,
including jack hammering. Pile driving will begin as early as Dec. 17 and
continue possibly into January. Overall, the project is expected to be complete
by the end of March.

Noise concerns can be directed to the Port’s noise hotline at (425) 388-0269.
