Ballot Drop Box

Ballot drop boxes are available 24 hours a day until 8:00pm election night

For those who don’t want to put a stamp on their ballot there are ballot drop boxes in Everett and the surrounding communities where you can drop your ballot off postage free. The boxes are open 24 hours a day until 8:00pm on election night. In Everett there is a drop box in front of the Snohomish County Courthouse right at the intersection of Rockefeller and Wall Street. There is also another in south Everett at McCollum Park on 128th street just east of I-5. Click here for a complete list of drop box locations around Snohomish County. You should be aware the boxes are not staffed. Also your ballot may not be marked as received for as many as three days after Election Day.

If you have a question and want to talk to someone before dropping off your ballot you can take your ballot into the Snohomish County Auditor’s office and drop it there after your question has been answered. You can also call (425) 388-3444 or click here for answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

If you have impaired vision, a disability or would just like to use a voting machine instead of the paper ballot, you can vote in person on an Accessable Voting Unit. They are available in Everett at the Auditor’s office on Monday between 9am and 5pm and on Election day from 7am – 8pm. In addition, on the Monday before and on Election Day Tuesday, the AVU’s are available at the Lynnwood Sno-Isle Library located at 19200 44th Avenue West in Lynnwood. Voting hours are 10am until 8pm on the Monday before an election, and 7am until 8pm on Election Day, Tuesday. Voters casting a ballot on an AVU must either show a photo ID or sign a declaration. The signature on the declaration must match the signature in the voter registration record. (RCW 29A.40.160)

If you do vote by mail be sure your ballot is postmarked by midnight November 6th. Just putting it in a mail drop box won’t guarantee that it is postmarked in time so you may want to take it into the post office or put it into a ballot drop box if you’re voting late Tuesday. So far about 40 percent of the ballots mailed out in Snohomish County have been returned to the Auditor’s office. Here is a link to the latest ballot return statistics in Snohomish County. Overall voter turnout is expected to be around 80 percent.
