State Troopers Converge on Everett for Speeding Emphasis Today
September 7, 2012
Trooper Keith Leary sent us a picture of a half-dozen Washington State Patrol troopers on the on-ramp to I-5 at 41st street in Everett. Leary says they are conducting a major speed emphasis today on both directions of I-5 thru Everett as part of their collision reduction project. Leary says in the first 7 minutes of the emphasis they had already stopped 4 drivers.

4 troopers located in one spot! Yeah I’m glad the 1/4 mile around 41st street is so well protected! Stop sitting on overpasses looking for speeders go help the guy with the flat tire a half mile down the road! I am sick to death of seeing WSP sitting on the side of the road with their hands out, sorry i mean with their radar guns out, when there are stranded drivers performing risky roadside repairs not being taken care of. I understand WSP has a quota and they need to catch as many speeders as possible but this is ridiculous!

Now if they could only ticket the idiot drivers, that speed up and cut you off as your slowing down to merge onto the trestle/Hwy. 2. I’ve seen more rear-end collisions because of this.

Maybe they should be working hwy 2 instead. Two head on collisions in two days.
