Everett Police have their hands full investigating two separate motorcycle crashes Thursday afternoon. The first occurred around 5:30pm on eastbound 526 just before the tunnel to northbound I-5. It appeared that a motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck. The rider was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. The second motorcycle crash occurred about a half hour later in the 5100 block of Evergreen Way when a motorcycle collided with a Ford Mustang. In that accident the motorcycle rider was knocked right out of his shoes. He was also transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with very serious injuries. Everett Police traffic investigators were busy working both scenes and not available for comment at the time I took these pictures.
Update: 8/17/12 4:00pm
Everett Police say the rider in the accident on SR 526 was taken to an Everett Hospital, stabilized and then last night was transferred to Harborview Hospital in Seattle and put into their Intensive Care Unit.

The rider involved in the accident on Evergreen Way was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious but not life threatening injuries.
No other information is available.

I’ve put a call in to Everett Police about both accidents requesting an update. It appears the rider from the accident on 526 was transported first to an Everett Hospital and then down to Harborview where at last word he was in the intensive care unit. The rider in the second accident was taken to an Everett Hospital and is in serious but stable condition.

Will there be further updates on the man in the first accident (taken to Harborview)? I was at the accident and am wondering how he’s doing.

My understanding is that he in a medically induced coma at Harbor View and will remain in it until the team of physicians are convinced the brain swelling caused by his head injury has gone down enough. His first surgery on his arm was scheduled for today. Most of his injuries are on one side of his body (broken leg, hip, arm etc).
The swelling of his brain has gone down but he isn’t out of the woods just yet.

Thank you so much for this update. I’d love to hear more if you happen to know. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him since the accident and have been praying for him every day and am hoping that he pulls through.

Hi Vincente,
My name is Tim and I just happened to notice your post from September. I was at the accident on 526. If you are the one that was in the accident on 526 I can help fill in some of the details.
