Everett’s Night Out Against Crime Spreads Out to 20 Locations Around the City

Again this year the City of Everett is spreading out the annual Night Out Against Crime program across the entire city. Here’s the details…

Join neighbors Tuesday Aug. 7 at your National Night Out Against Crime event to let criminals know that crime isn’t tolerated in Everett.

National Night Out began 29 years ago when 400 communities in 23 states participated in the inaugural National Night Out.  Since then, the event has grown to more than 37 million people participating in 15,325 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide.

City of Everett is proud to be part of this great event partnering with our 19 organized neighborhoods and various organizations.  National Night Out is designed to heighten awareness about crime and drug prevention, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood relationships and form police-community partnerships to let criminals know crime won’t be tolerated in our community.

This year, the Everett Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management, Office of Neighborhoods and other city officials will travel throughout the city to participate with neighborhoods and small Block Watch groups.

Neighbors who know each other are more likely to help each other when crime or natural disasters strike.
