Washington Stealth Lacrosse to Stay in Everett Another Five Years

The Stealth are staying in Everett

Received word this morning that the Washington Stealth will remain a major tenant for Comcast Arena at Everett…

The Washington Stealth and Comcast Arena at Everett are pleased to announce the two sides have agreed to terms on a five-year lease that will keep the Stealth in it’s Everett, Wash., home through the 2017 season.

“This contract extension has all the elements of a strong partnership,” said Stealth owner Denise Watkins. “The first three years at the Comcast Arena were a blur of highs and lows – all those things that make sporting events dramatic. We love this market, our dedicated fans, and our partners who help make it possible to showcase the team. With this contract extension by our facility partner, we are now able to continue building on the foundation and take the team to a new level of success.”

The Stealth has grown into a constant presence in the Everett, Snohomish County and Western Washington communities, regularly contributing to local, statewide and national non-profit organizations. The team has hosted events and raised funds for the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, Imagine Children’s Museum, Providence Comprehensive Breast Center, Northwest Harvest, Puget Sound Blood Center, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Sticks-2-Schools and many more, all at the Comcast Arena at Everett.

Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson greeted the news enthusiastically. “Everett’s Comcast Arena continues to be an attractive venue for professional sports, events and concerts. The Washington Stealth has become a part of the fabric of the community. The renewal agreement provides a strong, long standing relationship between the Stealth and the City of Everett,” he said.

The Stealth moved to Washington prior to the 2010 season after spending six seasons in San Jose, Calif. The team found instant success in its new home, winning the 2010 National Lacrosse League Championship in front of a sold out Comcast Arena crowd. The team plays in the National Lacrosse League, which has nine member organizations spanning North America. The NLL season runs from January through April, with playoffs occurring in May. The Stealth hosts eight regular season games at the Comcast Arena, with the potential for up to three playoff contests.
