Mike Lapointe wants to be the next Congressman from Everett

Just received a posting on the MyEverettNews.com Facebook page that a longtime member of Occupy Everett has decided to run against Rick Larsen for his seat in Congress. Mike Lapointe says he’s been a factory worker, Vice President of the United Electrical Workers Local 264 and an outspoken opponent of corporations dominating our political system. You can read more about what he believes in here as part of a Voters Guide Statement on his website.

In addition to Lapointe who says he prefers the 99% Party and Larsen who says he prefers the Democratic Party, there are three people who prefer the Republican Party and one who states no party preference in the running for the August Primary. The top two vote getters in August will advance to the November General Election. You can click here to see a list of all of the folks who have filed for office this election season.
