Boeing Releases Statement on “Industrial Accident” at Everett Boeing Plant

December 12, 2011

Everett, Everett Fire

Here’s the official statement from Elizabeth Fischtziur at Boeing on the accident at the Everett Plant…

At approximately 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, an industrial accident occurred at the Everett site involving a contracted employee.

Boeing’s emergency medical team responded and administered aid until the local municipal paramedics arrived. The individual was then transported to Harborview Medical for further treatment.

The employee works for Sequoyah Electric.

We are not providing the name of the employee and any other inquiries regarding his injuries or condition should be directed to Sequoyah Electric.

Boeing cares about the safety and well being of all our employees and contractors who work in our industrial areas. Boeing is investigating the cause of this accident and will implement the necessary changes to ensure it is not repeated.

Fischtziur did confirm that some buildings lost power temporarily as a result of the accident but she could not confirm the extent of the interruption on operations at the plant. My Everett News met two workers at Sporty’s Beef and Brew who said they had been sent home for the day because of the accident. They did not want to provide their names.
