KISS Leaves a Bad Taste, Everett Event Center Loses 200 Thousand Dollars in June

Comcast Arena in the Moonlight

It was a dismal financial report last week at the monthly meeting of the Everett Public Facilities District. Comcast Arena Everett lost $200,000.00 in the month of June with losses from the KISS concert bearing the brunt of the deficit. Overall the building is having a tough 1st half of 2011 with revenues trailing projections by more than a hundred thousand dollars. April, May and June were especially rough but Global Spectrum, which manages the arena, says July will be much better with two sold out shows, American Idols Live and Sugarland who is expected to set an attendance record when all the final numbers come in. One other note from the July PFD meeting…It was a nice show of respect as the Board held a minute of silence for Earl Dutton, who passed away at the end of June.
