As regular readers know I hate the idea of Charlie Sheen coming to Everett and Comcast Arena but I do want to salute Comcast Arena Everett for bringing country Superstar Alan Jackson to Everett August 19th.
Here’s the information released today…
with special guest TBA
Friday, August 19 – 7:30 pm
Jackson kicked off his 2011 tour schedule by taking his show to Ontario, Canada for three sold-out shows in February. When shows went on sale, over 15,000 tickets were sold in less than an hour. In early March, he embarked on his first tour of Australia, playing a string of sold-out shows over the course of two weeks in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Jackson’s 2011 tour schedule has also been highlighted by a return to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show where he was inducted into the Show’s Star Trail of Fame for playing to over one million fans at the Rodeo in his career – he’s only the fifth entertainer in history to do so.
Alan Jackson is one of the most successful and respected singer-songwriters in music. He’s sold nearly 60-million albums worldwide, topped the country singles charts 35 times, and scored more than 50 Top-10 hits. He’s a 17-time winner at the ACM Awards and a 16-time CMA Award recipient, a tally that includes three CMA Entertainer of the Year honors. A 2010 recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he’s known for music that celebrates the common man (“Where I Come From”), speaks to generations (“Drive [For Daddy Gene]”) and for our nation (“Where Were You [When the World Stopped Turning]”).
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am online, over the phone and at Comcast Arena Everett Box Office. There is a pre-sale that requires a special password starting tomorrow for Cyber Club members but I’m not sure we should post that password here. What do you think?
