Everett’s Daily Newspaper Makes Some Changes

April 10, 2011

Everett

Everett's Newspaper of Record, The Daily Herald, has made some changes to its printed product. You can click above for the online version but I could find nothing about the print changes there.

I noticed a few changes to the Herald this morning. There’s a new Nameplate that does away with “The Daily” and today’s edition was called, The Sunday Herald. They’ve also added their Facebook and Twitter page names with the logos for Facebook and Twitter right to the Nameplate. Scott North has a new page that he introduced online last week. Its called Need to Know and will apparently appear in print every Sunday but be updated online more frequently. The paper has bumped local news off the front page of section B and put it into the middle of that section to make room for more opinions and ideas up front. There are also a few other changes. Executive Editor Neal Pattison has put a phone number up if you’d like to comment on the new look, it’s (425) 339-3456. He didn’t put up an email address in the article in the paper nor did he address these changes to the print edition on HeraldNet.com so I guess the assumption is the people who read the paper online are completely different from those who pick it up at the store or have it delivered. Two different worlds I guess, or are they?
